SAMSUNG GALAXY M51
Samsung Galaxy M51, undoubtedly the best M series phone that you can own at this point. It has got a massive 7000mAh battery which lasts almost two to three days with moderate use. Samsung Galaxy M51 also supports reverse charging. And M51 weighs approximately 213-grams.
On Samsung Galaxy M51, you have got the Super AMOLED plus display with FHD plus resolution. Infinity O design, 64-megapixel camera with lots of features, and many more at the price point that is hard to believe.
But you still be wondering whether the price is right for the features that Galaxy M51 offers or you should add more money and buy a Nord? K20 Pro? or the Realme X3? Well, let’s find out.
On The Box
The first thing you get is the Galaxy M51, it has got a good solid feel. A 25W charger, type-C to type-C cable, a sim ejector tool, and some paperwork.
You will not get a protective case, screen protector and there is no earphone on the box.
On the right there is a power lock unlock button cum fingerprint scanner, which unlocks your device in just 0.21 sec and there is a volume rocker just above the power button.
On top, there is a secondary microphone.
The left side is almost clear except for the dedicated triple slot sim tray.
On the bottom side, there is a USB type C charging slot, speaker grill, primary microphone. And the 3.5mm headphone jack is also present, which is pretty much rare nowadays.
In terms of physical appearance, I like what Samsung has done with the design of there M series phones.
The M51 has a solid color but still an extremely classy finish.
There is a pre-applied screen protector. So, when you touch the display, you will be touching Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
The back is going to be of plastic. What Samsung called “Glasstic”.That is essentially plastic made to look like glass.
Samsung Galaxy M51 is powered by Snapdragon 730G octa-core SOC along with Adreno 618 graphics. Now in the 730G, ‘G’ stands for gaming, which means that these processors are optimized to deliver a better gaming experience than the regular Snapdragon 730.
This 730G is very capable of day to day use, the animation you do on your phone, and very important for the smooth gaming experience.
Now let’s talk about the software. It is running Android 10 and One UI 2.1 on top. One 2.1 is not the same on the M51 as it is on flagship phones.
There are some features that you will not get on M51 like, Link to Windows, Bixby Routines, Secure Folder, and Edge Lighting.
But you do get Dolby Atmos that works when you are connected or paired with your earphones and that’s is great. It takes your sound experience to another level.
Glad to see that Samsung gives the screen recorder, the native android screen recorder with the M51, it’s been missing on all other M series phones.
Everything else is pretty much standard, you get Google and Microsoft apps, you’ve got some Samsung’s pre-installed apps, and FM radio too.
And then there are some other applications which you may or may not need. So if you don’t need it, you can just uninstall and get rid of them.
Samsung Galaxy M51 comes with 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. There is an extra memory card slot which is expandable up to 512 GB.
In terms of RAM, you have 6GB and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM variants.
M51 comes with a massive 6.7 inch Super AMOLED+, FHD+ resolution, infinity ‘O’ design with a 20:9 aspect ratio display. The color looks good as they always look on the Super AMOLED display. The screen looks decently bright enough for easy viewing even on the brightest day outside. It is also HDR10 compatible with YouTube but not Netflix yet.
Since M51 has got a SAMOLED display, so it is 43% slimmer and up-to 28% brighter. The contrast ratio of the display is 78960:1 and the vivid colors up-to 110% NTSC color Gamut.
So whether you are gaming or consuming content you’ve got a pretty rich big screen experience with really good colors.
The screen on M51 is more bezel-less than some other earlier M series phones and that is a good sign.
Now let’s talk about cameras. So we do have a front-facing 32-megapixel camera in the infinity O design, the punch out.
M51 comes with a quad rear camera with a Sony IMX682 sensor. The 64-megapixel f1.8 primary camera, 12 megapixels f2.2 ultra-wide, 5-megapixel f2.4 depth, and 5-megapixel f2.4 macro lens.
Since the Samsung Galaxy M51 is the online-only model, so shipping is going to vary depending on your region. The 6GB/128GB model cost Rs. 24,999 and the 8Gb/128GB model cost Rs. 26,999.
With the M51, thanks to the improved display technology, 25W charger that is included in the box, the massive 7000 mAh battery, the 64-megapixel camera, One UI 2.1, and most importantly the price.
